Our Story

Since 1978, Morgan
County's Home for
Homeless Animals.

When we opened our doors, Jimmy Carter was president and a gallon of gas cost 65 cents. Our buildings haven't always kept up. Our mission has never wavered.

Who We Are

Our Mission

We are a volunteer-run, no-kill animal shelter (EIN: 55-0594927). We care for dogs and cats who have been abandoned, surrendered, or found as strays — providing housing, vet care, and love until each finds a forever family.

We receive no government funding. Everything is sustained by donors, volunteers, and this community.

No-Kill Commitment:

No healthy or treatable animal in our care is ever euthanized. Every dog and cat stays with us until adopted — no matter how long it takes.

How We Help

What We Do

  • Operate a no-kill shelter for homeless cats and dogs
  • Accept owner surrenders with no waiting list
  • Work with surrounding counties to save animals from euthanasia
  • Provide spay/neuter and vaccines prior to every adoption
  • Host community vaccine clinics for owned pets
  • Disperse spay/neuter vouchers to prevent unwanted litters
  • Run Trap/Neuter/Return program for feral cats
